ABOUT GOOD NEWS TENNIS
“Positivity breeds positive outcomes.”
Tennis is one of the world's most demanding, poetic, and mentally taxing sports. Good News Tennis Magazine (GNT) was established with a singular conviction: to report on the good in the sport, uplift the athletes who give everything on court, and open doors for the next generation of players.
Why GNT-Magazine Was Created
GNT was born out of direct observation of two glaring issues currently facing modern tennis:
Respecting the Athlete: Rejecting Toxic Press Conferences & Clickbait
After pouring their hearts, bodies, and minds into grueling multi-hour battles, tennis players frequently walk into post-match press conferences only to face a barrage of hostile, irrelevant, or intrusive questioning. Too often, interviews are engineered not to unpack the tactical genius or emotional grit of the match, but to provoke an emotional breakdown, spark controversy, or extract a soundbite designed solely for clicks.
We see this recurring time and again across the tour:
- Invasive & Off-Topic Press Rooms: Players like Aryna Sabalenka, fresh off a commanding 6-1, 6-1 Grand Slam masterclass, having to endure badgering questions about personal relationships and partying (opens in a new tab) rather than being asked about her elite baseline execution and preparation.
- Combative On-Court Interviews: Post-match exchanges that put athletes on the defensive, stoke manufactured rivalries, or undermine venues and opponents just to generate social media outrage.
Opening the Court: Dismantling Financial & Geographic Barriers
Tennis is historically and financially one of the hardest sports to pursue. Between the spiraling costs of coaching, court hires, equipment, and the relentless international travel required to build a ranking before reaching tournament prize money thresholds, the financial burden is staggering.
The heartbreaking reality is that countless promising, hardworking young players drop out of tennis not because they lack talent or dedication, but simply because they lack immense financial backing.
GNT-Magazine takes this challenge head-on by shining a light on accessible tennis routes across different countries:
Raising awareness of affordable regional venues, open tournaments, and accessible facilities across different countries so families know where to play.
Spotlighting grassroots clubs, community coaching schemes, equipment donation drives, and scholarships that help young talent stay in the game.
“Positivity Breeds Positive Outcomes”
When coverage treats athletes with dignity, fans connect more deeply. When media shines a spotlight on community courts and accessible pathways, young players see a viable future. By focusing on constructive stories, we help foster a healthier, more inclusive, and joyful tennis community for everyone.
